Prough leads Hornets over Williamson, 17-7.

Sophomore Dylan Prough went 3-3 with 4 RBIs to lead the Hornet Varstiy baseball team to a 17-7 win over Williamson. In addition to Prough's hits, Senior Billy Sell had two hits and Junior Connor Coolidge had a two-run single that ended the game for the Hornets in the fifth inning.

The Hornet offensive machine began in the bottom of the second scoring 5 runs to make it a game. In the third, the Warriors pitching staff struggled to find the strike zone as they issued 5 walks in the inning. The big blow came when Prough cleared the bases with a triple.

Junior Matt Reese started the game for Wellsboro and worked two innings. Senior Thomas Johnston came on in relief to work three innings and picked up his third win of the year.

With the win, the Hornets improve their 2012 season record to 10-4 (8-1 NTL West) and secure a district playoff birth. The team will be back in action on Monday, May 14, as they travel to Troy to battle for the NTL West title.
