Hornet baseball explodes for 15 runs against NEB.
 

A night after scoring 17 runs against Troy, the Wellsboro Varsity baseball team scored 15 to beat Northeast Bradford Wednesday night.

9 of the Hornets' 15 runs came in the 1st inning.

Freshman Dawson Prough, Freshman Nick Tremper, Senior Connor Coolidge, and Senior Luke Rudy each recorded 2 hits to lead the Hornets at the plate. Junior Brandon Owlett, Junior Nate Harding, Freshman Joe Allen, Junior Brian Doty, and Senior Ben Shaw recorded the other hits. Dawson Prough led the team with 4 RBI's, with Coolidge, Owlett, and Allen each driving in 2.

Senior Dan Saniga started on the mound for the Hornets, pitching 2 innings and striking out 4 batters for the win. Allen came in to pitch the final 3 innings.

With the win, the Hornets improve to 9-2 (3-1 NTL West). The team will be back in action Friday, May 3 as they hit the road to take on rival Mansfield.
