Hornet baseball falls to Canton.

The Wellsboro Varsity baseball team dropped their first game of the 2013 season Wednesday as Canton won, 2-0.

The Hornets found themselves down 1-0 in the 1st inning after a home run, and would be down 2-0 after Canton's Kyle Landis scored off a Tanner Machmer double. The Hornets had chances to score on the night, but had trouble at the plate as Seniors Connor Coolidge and Matt Reese had the only hits.

Reese pitched all 7 innings giving up 7 hits, 2 walks, an earned run, and struck out 4 in the loss.

With the loss, the Hornets fall to 3-1 (2-1 NTL West). The team will be back in action on Friday, April 19 as they travel to Troy.
