Shaw's 3 homers power Wellsboro past Troy.
 

Senior Ben Shaw went 5-5 with 3 home runs and 8 RBI's to power the Wellsboro Varsity baseball team over Troy, 17-4.

Shaw had a solo home run, a 2-run home run, and a 3-run home run while his double was with the bases loaded and came close to being a grand slam.

Senior Matt Reese, Senior Connor Coolidge, Freshman Joe Allen, Junior Brandon Owlett, Senior Luke Rudy, Junior Dylan Prough, and Junior Nate Harding all had hits for the Hornets, with Prough hitting a double. Coolidge scored three times, Allen twice while Harding, Reese, Owlett, Freshman Dawson Prough, Dylan Prough and Junior Brian Doty also crossed home.

Reese earned the win on the mound for the Hornets, going three innings to strike out one with three walks. Coolidge came on in relief with one strikeout and one walk.

With the win, the Hornets improve to 8-2 (3-1 NTL West). The team will be back in action on Wednesday, May 1 as they host Northeast Bradford.
