Hornet baseball tops Wyalusing, 7-5.
 

The Wellsboro Varsity baseball team earned a birth in District IV playoffs as they defeated Wyalusing 7-5 on Monday, May 12.

The two teams were tied 4-4 when Wellsboro out scored Wyalusing 3-1 in the final two innings to take home the win. Sophomore Dawson Prough went 2-for-2 with 2 RBI's and scored a run to lead the Horents at the plate.

Senior Brandon Owlett was 2-for-4 with a run, Senior Cody DeHaas went 2-for-4 with two runs, Junior Nick Levindoski, Sophomore James Mundy, and Sophomore Joe Allen also had hits. Levindoski and Allen each scored a run with an RBI.

Owlett earned the win, striking out five while allowing five walks, seven hits and four earned runs.

With the win the Hornets improve to 9-8 (5-5 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Friday, May 16 as they host Danville on Senior Night.
