Big first inning lifts Wellsboro baseball over Coudersport.
 

The Wellsboro Varsity Baseball team scored 11 runs in the first inning en route to a 16-3 victory over Coudersport on Monday, April 13.

Junior Dawson Prough led the Hornets at the plate as he went 2-for-3 with four RBI's. Junior Nick Tremper was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI's, Freshman Dalton Prough was 1-for-1, Senior Nick Levindoski was 1-for-3 with three RBI's, Freshman Caleb Tennis was 1-for-1, and Junior Nick Webster was 1-for-2.

Dawson Prough and Tremper each scored three runs, Levindoski, Webster, and Freshman Johnny Rowland scored two runs each, while Juniors Sam Moss and Joe Allen, Dalton Prough, and Freshman Parker Mann added the remaining runs.

Moss started on the mound for the Hornets and recorded the win as he pitched three innings, giving up one run, two hits, two walks, and striking out three on 57 pitches. Dalton Prough pitched an inning and struck out two, and Junior James Mundy pitched an inning and gave up two runs, one hit, three walks, and struck out one.

With the win, the Hornets improve to 2-2 (0-1 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action today as they host Sayre.
