Hornet baseball falls to Mansfield, 13-1.
 

The Wellsboro Varsity Baseball team dropped their second straight game as they lost to rival Mansfield 13-1 on Friday, May 8.

Mansfield scored six runs in the first inning, five in the third, one in the fourth, and one in the fifth to secure the win. The Hornets added their only run in the fourth inning.

Junior Joe Allen had a hit and scored the Hornets' run. Freshman Johnny Rowland, Junior Sam Moss, Freshman Alex Kozuharski, Junior Larry Walters all had hits with Walters having a double and Freshman Caleb Tennis had an RBI.

Allen started on the mound and pitched three innings, giving up 11 runs, four walks and two strikeouts. Junior James Mundy came on for the final two innings and allowed two runs, one walk, and struck out one.

With the loss, the Hornets fall to 11-6. The team will be back in action on Monday, May 11 as they host Danville on Senior Night.
