Hornet baseball falls to Sayre, 12-1.
 

The Wellsboro Varsity Baseball team suffered their third loss of the year as Sayre defeated the Hornets 12-1 in five innings on Tuesday, April 14.

Sayre had the Hornets' number on the afternoon, as the visiting team jumped out to a quick 8-1 lead after two innings. The Hornets had scoring chances but could not convert their opportunities. Junior Dawson Prough, Senior Nick Levindoski, and Freshman Johnny Rowland had the only Wellsboro hits on the afternoon, while Rowland scored the only run for the Hornets.

Junior Joe Allen started on the mound and suffered his first loss of the year. Junior Sam Moss and Rowland each pitched two innings.

With the loss, the Hornets fall to 2-3 (0-1 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Wednesday, April 15 as they host Towanda.
