Hornets fall to Warrior Run in playoffs.
 

The Wellsboro Varsity Baseball team lost 13-4 to Warrior Run in District IV Class AA quarterfinals on Friday, May 22.

The Hornets scored an early run but Warrior Run matched them in the bottom of the first inning to tie the game up at 1-1. The Defenders then broke the game open in the second inning as they scored eight runs to take a 9-1 lead and would add another run in the bottom of the third to go up 10-1.

Wellsboro would get three runs in the top of the sixth inning to close the score to 10-4, but Warrior Run added three more in the bottom half of the frame to officially close the door and eliminate the Hornets.

Senior Nick Levindoski had one of the Hornets' five hits on the night as he doubled.

With the loss the Hornets end their season at 12-9.
