Three home runs power Hornets past CV.
 

The Wellsboro Varsity Baseball team hit three home runs to defeat Cowanesque Valley 13-6 on Friday, April 24.

The Hornets were up 8-2 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning when the Indians cut it to 8-6. The Hornets responded with three runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh to get the win.

Junior Nick Tremper, Senior Nick Levindoski, and Junior Joe Allen all had two-run home runs on the night. Tremper was 3-for-4 at the plate and scored four runs, while Junior Dawson Prough was 3-for-3 with three doubles and three runs scored.

Juniors James Mundy and Sam Moss and Freshmen Johnny Rowland and Caleb Tennis also had hits in the game.

Moss started on the mound and pitched three innings, allowing only one run to secure the win. Senior Brett Kendrick pitched an inning and allowed five runs (three earned), and Mundy came on for the final three innings to collect the save.

With the win, the Hornets improve to 5-4 (2-2 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action today as they host Milton.
