Hornets fall to Shikellamy, 3-2.
 

The Wellsboro Varsity Baseball team dropped a 3-2 game to Shikellamy on Friday, May 12.

Wellsboro took an early lead with a run in the top of the first but the Braves tied the game up in the bottom of the second. The score remained 1-1 until the bottom of the fifth when Shikellamy added two runs of take a 3-1 lead.

The Hornets had an opportunity for a seventh inning comeback, and nearly pulled it off with a run, but came up short for the second time this week.

Juniors Caleb Tennis and Dalton Prough led the Hornets at the plate going 2-for-4, junior Johnny Rowland, sophomore Cam Tennis, and freshmen Billy Lechler and Carson Davis were all 1-for-3, and sophomore Taynton Repard was 1-for-2. Prough and Cam Tennis scored Wellsboro's runs and Davis had an RBI.

The loss drops the Hornets to 9-9 (9-6 NTL Large School Division). The team will be back in action on Monday, May 15 against Danville.
