Middle School Hornets open season with pair of wins.
 

The Wellsboro Middle School Baseball team kicked off their season with a pair of wins in Cowanesque Valley.

The Hornets started out the day with a 10-6 win over Cowanesque Valley then edged St. Marys 7-5.

Against CV, Darryn Callahan went 3-for-3 with 4 RBIs, Cameron Brought was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs, and Isaac Keane was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Conner Adams was 1-for-3 with a walk, and Brody Morral and Ryan Sweet were both 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Adams (2), Keane (2), Tyler Fletcher (2), Callahan, Brought, Dylan Abernathy, and Blake Hamblin all scored runs.

In their win over St. Marys the Hornets rebounded after trailing 2-1 for a 6-run third inning to hold on for the win.

Adams, Keane, and Abernathy all went 1-for-3, Fletcher, Brought, and Hamblin were all 1-for-1. Adams, Keane, Fletcher, Callahan, Abernathy, Brought, and Sweet scored runs for the Hornets.

Wellsboro (2-0) host Cowanesque Valley and Northeast Bradford on Saturday, April 21.
