Canton baseball blanks NEB.

The Canton Warriors picked up a 13-0 five-inning victory over Northeast Bradford in baseball action on Tuesday afternoon.

Canton scored seven runs in the first inning on their way to the victory.

Garrett Wesneski and Tyler Cole combined on the one-hit shutout for the Warriors.

Wesneski worked three innings, striking out three and walking three, while Cole struck out five, walked one, hit one and allowed one hit in two innings.

At the plate, Wesneski had a hit and scored two runs and Tanner Machmer had a hit and scored two runs.

Wes Moore and Kyle Landis each had hits and scored runs and Ben Pepper had a double and scored a run.

Cole had a hit and Scott Rockwell had a hit, scored two runs and stole a base.

Ryan Kutz had a double and Derek Wilcox had a triple and scored two runs. Josiah Barto had a hit and scored a run and Chase pepper scored a run.

James Zajac had a hit for nEB.

Brett Goodwin started for the Panthers, working one inning, striking out two, walking five and allowing six hits and 10 runs, two earned.

Jesse Stroud pitched three innings, striking out one, and allowing one unearned run.

Bill Franklin pitched one inning, striking out one and allowing four hits and two earned runs.

Canton hosts Towanda on Friday.

Dryden 6, Waverly 4

The Wolverines fell behind 4-0 after two innings on Tuesday. They battled back with two in the third and two in the fifth to tie the game, but Dryden got two in the sixth to win it.

Dylan Perry worked five innings on the mound, striking out three and walking four, while allowing four hits, and four earned runs, while hitting one batter. Kyle Kuzma pitched two innings, striking out one, allowing one walk and two hits, with two runs, one earned.

"Our defense really hurt a good outing by Dylan Perry," Waverly coach Kyle McDuffee said. "Our defense needs to get batter. We never quit despite the errors, we kept fighting."

Waverly had eight errors in the game.

Anthony Girolomo scored a run for Waverly and Perry had two hits, with an RBI and a run scored.

Ken Evans had an RBI and a run scored and Matt Lee had a hit and an RBI.

Chenango Valley beat Waverly 14-10 in a JV game.
