Hughesville ends Troy's season.

The Trojans had 10 hits in the game and in five different innings they loaded the bases, but in the end they stranded 15 runners in an 8-4 loss to Hughesville in the District 4, Class AA playoffs.

Hughesville had four home runs in the game.

Troy had taken 1-0 lead in the first inning as Lucas Havens singled, stole second and scored on a passed ball, but the Trojans left the bases loaded in the inning as Hughesville escaped further damage.

Hughesville took the lead in the second when Levi McCarty hit a three-run home run and in the third Tyler Mitcheltree led off with a base hit for Hughesville and scored on a Justin Lambert single.

Troy got a run back in the fourth as Cody Wolfe walked and Jarod Mattocks drove in Wolfe, but again the Trojans left the bases loaded.

In the bottom of the fourth John Poust and Jesse Hulien hit back-to-back home runs for Hughesville to make it 6-2.

Troy got a run in the fifth as Josh Mattocks walked and he scored when Chad Vermilya hit into a double play.

Poust hit his second home run of the game, a two-run shot, in the fifth to make it 8-3.

Troy got a run back in the seventh as Josh Mattocks walked and scored on a passed ball, but Troy left the bases loaded in the final inning.

Wolfe, Delbert Lewis and Havens pitched for Troy in the game.

Havens had two hits and scored a run and Justin Fitzwater had three hits. Lewis had a hit and Josh Mattocks had a hit and scored two runs, while Landis Zimmerman had two hits.

Wolfe scored a run, Vermilya had an RBI and Jarod Mattocks had a hit and an RBI.
