Troy baseball falls at Danville.

On a cold and windy night the Troy Trojans fell at Danville 8-4 in baseball action on Tuesday.

Scotty Heeter started for Danville, striking out one in four innings, while Brett Kraniak got the save with two strikeouts in three innings.

Danville got four runs in the first on a pair of walks, two errors and a hit and then in the fifth they got two more runs, before adding two in the sixth.+

Brett Borg led Danville with three hits and Mason Fausnaught had two hits.

Josh Mattocks started on the mound for Troy, working 4 1/3 innings, allowing six runs and seven hits with two strikeouts. Kyle Jackson pitched 1 2/3 innings, striking out one, and allowing three hits and two runs.

Troy got runs in the first, third, fourth and fifth innings. Three rally killing double plays hurt Troy.

Mattocks had two hits, with a double, an RBI and a run scored for Troy and Jackson had two hits.

Collin Binford and Stanley Zimmerman each got their first varsity hits for Troy.

Jarod Mattocks scored two runs and Chance Lantz scored a run.

Troy plays at Towanda on Monday.
