2014 Athens vs. Elk Lake BaseballAthens used two 4-run innings to beat Elk Lake 12-2 in non-league baseball action Saturday.

The Wildcats scored four runs in the second to take a 5-0 lead then added four more in the sixth to go up 12-2.

Troy Stivason (2-for-3) and Jake Shaffer (2-for-2) had multiple hit games for Athens. Stivason's included a double, 3-RBI and a run scored while Shaffer also drove in a run.

Dan Fisher, Tyler Forbes, Jarrett Priester and Jon Kleiner also had hits.

Kleiner drove in three runs, Fisher and Forbes had 2-RBI each while Priester also drove in a run.

Nick Vosburg and Luke Newman each scored three times for the Wildcats while Zane Vargason, Stivason, Sam Perri, Priester, Ben Rubert and Tyler Secules also crossed home.

On the mound Forbes and started and earned the win, going four innings to strike out seven while allowing two hits.

Perri came on for one inning of relief, allowing one earned run, one walk and two hits. Rubert pitched the final inning, striking out two while allowing two hits and one earned run.
