2015 Canton vs. Towanda BaseballCANTON - John Bowman won the pticher's dual on Wednesday as the Warriors topped Towanda 6-1.

Bowman pitched the complete game, striking out 10 and walking two, while allowing just three hits and one unearned run.

Tristan James allowed just four hits on the mound for Towanda in five innings, striking out two and Dylan Bates allowed one hit in an inning, striking out three.

The two allowed six runs, but just one of them was earned.

Trevor Route had a hit, two RBI and a run scored for Canton and Mason Moore had a hit and a run scored.

Bryce Cole had a double and a pair of runs scored for Canton and Mason Martell scored a run, while Ethan Landis and Brendon Landis each had hits.

Towanda got hits from Nick Place, Ethan Barto and Shane Martin and Dylan Bates scored the Black Knights run.

Towanda hosts Waverly on Friday.

Athens 9, Sayre 8

SAYRE - The Redskins scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh on a passed ball to pick up the win on Wednesday.

Connor Hanafin had two hits, with two RBI for Sayre and Matt Williams had a double, three RBI and a run scored.

Jake Wheeler had a hit and a run scored and Jordan Rockwell had a hit and a run scored.

Nate Sweet had a hit, an RBI and scored two runs and J.P. Harbst had a hit and scored a run.

Sam Wheeler, John Esposito and Chris Ray all scored runs.

Felt struck out none in four innings and Esposito struck out three in three innings.

Athens got two hits and a run scored from Nick Vosburg and Luke Newman had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Zane Vargason had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored and Tyler Forbes had three hits, with a double, two RBI and a run scored.

Cody Jennings had a hit and Ben Rubert had two hits, with a triple, an RBI and a run scored.

Justin Reagan and Ryan Kennedy scored runs and Matt Collins had an RBI.

Jennings struck out three in three innings and Joe Horn pitched a scoreless inning, while Marc Felt struck out two in two innings and Forbes struck out two in 2/3 of an inning.

Wellsboro 14, Williamson 12

The Green Hornets scored eight runs in the fourth on their way to the win.

Joe Allen had two hits for Wellsboro and he started on the mound, striking out five in five innings.

Dalton Prough had a hit and scored four runs and Brett Kendrick and Johnny Rowland each had hits with two runs scored.

James Mundy got the save for Wellsboro, striking out two in two innings.

Ryan Sargent had three hits, with two doubles, for Williamson and Jon Daley had three hits, while Daltyn Confer and Matt Learn had two hits each.

Wellsboro is at South Williamsport on Friday.
