Canton edges Sayre in extra innings.

Tyler Cole scored off a single by Brendon Landis to give Canton a 4-3 win over Sayre in NTL Small School baseball action Friday.

The Redskins led early with two runs in the second, then went up 3-0 in the top of the fifth.

The Warriors rallied in the bottom of the sixth with a run, then added two more in the seventh to send it to extra innings.

Tyler Cole was 1-for-2 with a run scored for the Warriors while Travis Butcher, Trevor Route and Landis also had hits.

Bryce Cole, Clayton Tymeson and Mason Moore scored the Canton runs.

Landis started and went the first three innings to strike out two.

John Bowman came on in relief in the fourth and finished out to get the win. He struck out nine.

Jordan Rockwell led Sayre, going 2-for-3 with a run scored while Jake Wheeler added a 2-RBI double.

Nate Sweet and Marshall Felt also had hits. John Esposito and Felt scored the other two runs.

Rockwell started and went seven innings for the no decision. He struck out three.

Sweet pitched the eighth and scores the loss, striking out one.
