Sayre wins Christiansen Tire Tournament title.

2015 Sayre vs. Williamson BaseballLERAYSVILLE - The Sayre Redskins came away with the Christiansen Tire Tournament title Saturday.

They beat Williamson 12-3 in their opening round game, then won over Susquehanna 11-1 in six innings to win the championship.

In the title game Matt Williams went 4-for-4 with two runs and 3-RBI to lead the Redskins while Jordan Rockwell (2-for-4) and Nate Sweet (2-for-3) also had multiple hits in the game. Rockwell scored twice while Sweet crossed home three times.

Sam Wheeler went 2-for-3 as well.

John Esposito, Connor Hanafin and JP Harbst also had hits.

Ryan Murrelle and Esposito also scored runs.

Murrelle started and earned the win, going five innings to strike out six. Harbst pitched the sixth.

In their opening round win it was Hanafin with the big bat, going 3-for-4 with 4-RBI.

Jake Wheeler, Sweet, Williams and Sam Wheeler had two hits each as well. Jake Wheeler had a double with a run scored, Sweet scored twice with an RBI, Williams scored three times with 2-RBI while Sam Wheeler had an RBI with a run scored.

Rockwell, Jake Goodrich, Murrelle and Chris Ray also had hits.

Rockwell scored twice while Goodrich and Murrelle each crossed home once.

Esposito added a run and RBI.

Goodrich started and went the first three innings with three strikeouts. Mike Rogers went the next three with three strikeouts while Marshall Felt pitched the final inning, striking out three batters.

Colin Heilbrun had a double with an RBI for Williamson while Dylan Confer and Nick Cevette also had hits.

Hunter Sackett, Anthony Bastian and Cevette scored the runs.

Matt Learn started and scores the loss, going 4 2/3-innings with eight strikeouts. Mike Snyder came on in relief.

In the consolation game Northeast Bradford beat Williamson 12-2 in five innings.

David Ford had a double with two runs and 2-RBI for the Panthers while Garret Smith, Tyler Emick, Brian Horton and Nate Watkins also had hits.

Horton and Nik Geiser had 2-RBI each while Aaron Pifer also knocked in a run.

Horton scored three times in the game while Emick crossed home twice. Smith, Pifer, Geiser, Bryan Ford and Watkins also scored.

Ford got the win, going three innings to strike out one while allowing three hits.

Tyler Devonshire pitched the fourth with two walks, one hit and one earned run.

Derrick Newman threw the fifth with one walk, three hits and one earned run.

Daltyn Confer went 3-for-3 with a double and run scored for the Warriors while Jon Daley was 2-for-3. Learn had a double with an RBI.

Bastian also had a hit while Sackett scored a run. Chase Austin added an RBI.

Bastian started and earned the loss, going 2 1/3-innings with one walk, three hits and eight runs, three of them earned.

Sackett went the final 1 2/3-innings with two walks, two hits and four runs, one of them earned.

In the opening round the hosts fell to Susquehanna 6-5 despite a 3-run seventh inning rally.

Horton, Emick, Pifer, Geiser and David Ford all had hits with Pifer's a double.

Horton knocked in two runs while Pifer and Geiser also had RBI. Horton scored twice with Pifer, Smith and Hunter Condusta also crossing home.

Horton started and scored the loss, going five innings to strike out seven while allowing three hits, two walks and six runs, none of them earned.

Nate Chilson threw the final inning, allowing one walk with two strikeouts.
