Towanda's Place signs with LeMoyneGrowing up Nick Place got a chance to follow in the shoes of his big brother Zach.

As Zach's high school career wrapped up for the Towanda Black Knights his younger brother's career was just getting started.

The two even got a chance to play a few Legion games together early in Nick's career.

But, the one thing the brothers didn't get to do was be teammates for their school.

Now, Nick will get the opportunity as he signed with LeMoyne where his brother will be playing his final season next year.

"I'm super excited," Nick Place said. "I never really got to play with him except for a few Legion games. I'm super excited to play with him."

Nick knows having his older brother around should make the transition to college a little easier.

"It helps a little bit," Nick said. "He's there for my first year."

Just like his older brother Nick plans to major in business in college.

"I'm planning to be a business major," Nick said. "Zach's a business major as well."

And, after seeing how his brother liked the school it helped make Nick consider it as well.

"He loves it there," Nick said.

Nick can already get a taste of college pitching as his brother is a pitcher for LeMoyne.

"It's definitely a big step up to hit off him," Nick Place said.

LeMoyne likes what Nick can bring to the team, and he expects to play first base in college.

"They like that I can hit a little bit, I can throw a little bit," he said.

After pitching and playing multiple different positions in high school Place will be happy to settle into one spot in college.

"It will definitely be nice to work and settle down at first base," he said.

This summer Place is just working to stay ready for college.

"I'm trying to work out, stay in shape," he said.

And, he knows that next year will be a big step up in competition.

"It's very exciting, it's a huge challenge," he said.

For Nick Place getting a chance to share Zach's final college season with him is going to be special.

"It's definitely a great thing," he said. "I'm looking forward to the fall and the spring."
