Jesse Manuel threw a four-hitter, striking out 11, to lead Tioga to a 3-1 win over Edison on Thursday.

Tioga led 2-1 entering the seventh when Tanner Folk hit a two-run double to drive in Parker and Pierce Hendershot to stretch the lead.

Edison got a run back in the bottom of the inning, but that's as close as it got.

"They got the leadoff on a couple times and Jesse settled down," Tioga coach Bob Seymour said. "It's a pleasure to watch a 3-1 game after blowouts."

Folk had two hits, with a double, and two RBI and Parker and Pierce Hendershot had hits and scored runs, while Manuel had a hit.

Sayre 20, Towanda 7

Sayre scored 13 runs in the fifth to take the lead after trailing 7-2.

Towanda got three in the third and four in the fourth to go up 7-2, before Sayre got 13 in the fifth and five in the sixth.

Sam Wheeler, Chris Ray and Jake Goodrich had two hits each for Sayre in the win.

Matt Williams, Connor Hannafin, John Esposito and James Esposito had hits for Sayre.

Tyler Bidlack and Brayden Manchester had two hits each for Towanda and Shane Martin, Ryan Bartholomew and Lars Thomason had hits.

Goodrich, Ryan Murrelle, Jordan Rockwell and John Esposito pitched for Sayre and Troy Pierce, Caleb Lines, Keegan Kisner and Bobby Farley pitched for Towanda.

"Pierce threw pretty effectively for us, he just kind of ran out of gas and we broke down defensively," Towanda coach Bill Sexton said. "We had a 7-2 lead in a pretty good position in the game and we just gave it back by some very shoddy defense. We opened the floodgates for Sayre and once they did they took advantage of it. What had been a pretty good ballgame up until the top of the fifth just turned into a disaster for us from a defensive standpoint."

Towanda is at Wyalusing today.

Waverly 13, Candor 1

Ethan McNaulty struck out 10 in six innings, allowing three hits in the win. Devin Garrison struck out two in one inning of one-hit relief.
