Sayre hits their way past Troy 15-2EAST TROY — Despite the cold, wet conditions, Sayre's bats were hot in their 15-2 in five innings win over Troy in NTL baseball action Saturday.

The Redskins pounded out 10 hits in the win, led by Connor Hanafin's 3-for-3 day. He had a double, 5-RBI and two runs scored while Nate Sweet went 3-for-3 with three runs and 2-RBI.

Sam Wheeler was 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI, Chris Ray had a double with a run scored while Quinn Hanafin was 1-for-4 with a run scored.

John Esposito added a run with 2-RBI while Jordan Rockwell and James Esposito had a run scored and an RBI each. Matt Williams scored twice with an RBI.

Sweet got the win, going three innings to strike out four while allowing two hits, two walks and one earned run on 61 pitches.

Ryan Murrelle came on in relief for two innings. He struck out three while allowing one hit, one walk and one earned run on 35 pitches.

For Troy, Tyler Williams was a bright spot, going 3-for-3 with 2-RBI while Clark Jackson was 1-for-2 and Anthony Deitrick scored the two runs.

Hunter Kendall started and scored the loss, going 2/3-innings with four hits, eight runs, two of them earned, and four walks while striking out one.

Mason Bellows came on for 2 1/3-innings of relief. He allowed four hits, one walk and five runs, four of them earned.

Ja Wallace pitched one inning, striking out two with two hits, one walk and two earned runs.

Deitrick finished out, striking out one.
