Troy tops CV.

EAST TROY — Troy had a big first inning and a big sixth to pick up the NTL baseball win over Cowanesque Valley 11-1 in six innings Friday.

Clark Jackson (2-for-2) and Nate Martin (2-for-4) had multiple hits for the Trojans. Jackson also scored three times while Martin scored twice and knocked in two runs.

Ja Wallace was 1-for-3 with two runs and Hayden Dewey was 1-for-1 with 2-RBI.

Tyler Williams and Bailey Cohick both scored twice and knocked in one run. Brandon Zechman, Adrian Weaver and Michael Borden each had an RBI as well.

Hunter Kendall got the win, going 5 2/3-innings to strike out eight while allowing one hit, two walks and one earned run.

Jackson finished the final third, striking out the lone batter he faced.

Seth Huyler was 1-for-3 with an RBI for CV while Kurtis Easton scored their lone run.

Nevin Niles started and went three innings, striking out five while allowing three hits, four walks and six runs, four of them earned.

Seth Huyler went 2 1/3-innings with three strikeouts while allowing two hits, three walks and two runs, one of them earned.

Christian Kemp also saw action, allowing one walk, one hit and three unearned runs.
