2013 Notre Dame vs. Dryden BaseballSOUTHPORT - Ridgebury's Parker May worked four strong innings on the mound, and had a two-run single at the plate to help lead the Crusaders to the 5-1 victory over Dryden on Saturday.

May worked four innings, striking out six, walking one and allowing one run on three hits.

With the game tied at four entering the bottom of the fifth inning Notre Dame exploded for four runs in the inning to get the victory.

Joe Prunier led off with a walk and Hunter Thomas followed with a walk. Tyler Boyles followed with an RBI double to give the Crusaders the lead and Aaron Carson drew a walk.

Wyatt Martin drove in a run on a ground out and May followed with a two-run double to help Notre Dame get the win.

Martin had two hits and two RBI on the day and May had the one hit and an RBI.

Derek Marshall, Boyles and Carson all had hits in the game.

Boyles pitched two innings of relief, striking out none and allowing one hit. Carson closed out the game with one scoreless inning of relief, allowing one hit.

Mansfield 8, Towanda 2

The Tigers pulled out a big NTL win on Saturday.

Tied 1-1 after the first inning Mansfield added two runs in the third and three in the fifth to take a 6-1 lead. Towanda scored one in the sixth but the Tigers added two more in the seventh to pick up the win.

"A kind of disappointing loss," Towanda coach Bill Sexton said. "We really didn't show up today. We got behind early and didn't really come back."

The Knights threatened in the fourth with bases loaded and one out but couldn't get the run in.

"One base hit away from tying the game or taking the lead and we couldn't do that," Sexton remarked. "We never really threatened after that."

Taylor Hillson was 2-for-2 with two doubles and three runs scored to lead Mansfield while Blake Doan was 2-for-4 with an RBI..

Bryce Zaparzynski, Sam Rotella, Jarod Burd and Derrick Burd also had hits with Derrick Burd's a double.

Rotella scored twice while Zaparzynski, Jarod Burd and Derrick Burd also crossed home. Zaparzynski, Rotella, Max Colegrove, Jarod Burd, Derrick Burd and Doan also knocked in runs.

Rotella gets the win, going all seven innings to strike out three while allowing three walks, four hits and two earned runs.

Brandon Dinelli, Jared Lines, Dylan Bates and Mitch Patel had the four Towanda hits. Bates added 2-RBI while Dinelli and Lines scored the two runs.

Sawyer Strope started and scores the loss. He struck out six while allowing seven hits, six runs, two of which were earned, and three walks. Bates came on for the final two with three strikeouts, four hits, one walk and two runs, none of which were earned.

Towanda will travel to Cowanesque Valley Monday.

Canton 15, St. John Neumann 4, 6 innings

Josiah Bardo had three hits, with a double, four runs and two RBI and Emmett Watson had two hits, three RBI and four runs scored in the victory.

Connor Route had a hit, two RBI and a run scored and Chase Pepper had a hit and a run scored.

Kyle Landis scored a run and Wes Moore had two hits and a run scored. Tanner Machmer had a hit and scored a run and Trevor Route had two hits, two runs scored and two RBI.

Wesneski started, striking out three in two scoreless innings. John Bowman worked one scoreless inning, Kyle Landis pitched 2/3 of an inning and Wes Moore worked 2 1/3 scoreless innings with two strikeouts.

Canton hosts Troy on Monday.

Line Mountain 22, Troy 9

The Trojans led 9-6 after the first two innings but Line Mountain rattled off 16 unanswered runs to get the consolation win at the Shamokin Tournament Saturday.

Troy lost their first round game to UDA.

Kyle Jackson got the start for Troy with Nathan Swain coming in the third. Swain would eventually get the lost and be relieved in the third inning by Kyle Schucker. Darton Harwick came in during the fourth and went the rest of the way.

Jackson (2-for-2) and Josh Mattocks (2-for-4) had multiple hit games for the Trojans while Jarod Mattocks, Kyle Schucker, Scott Reese, Landis Zimmerman and Ryan Reeves also had hits.
