Athens, Troy baseball notch wins.

2015 Athens vs. Wellsboro BaseballATHENS - The Wildcats picked up a 10-5 win over Wellsboro in NTL baseball action on Wednesday.

With the win Athens and Troy remain tied atop the NTL, Division I standings at 12-2 in the league and Wellsboro falls two games back in the standings.

Nick Vosburg had two hits, an RBI and a run scored for Athens and Marc Felt had a hit and an RBI.

Zane Vargason had a hit, two RBI and a run scored and Luke Newman and Tyler Forbes each scored runs, Forbes had two RBI.

Cody Jennings had two hits, with a double, an RBI and a run scored and Matt Collins had two RBI.

Dan Joyce had a hit and an RBI and Joe Horn, Ben Rubert, Ryan Kennedy and Justin Reagan scored runs for Athens.

Sam Perri pitched 4 2/3 innings, striking out one and allowing four hits and three unearned runs. Jennings struck out three in 2 1/3 innings.

Dalton Prough had two hits and scored two runs and Nick Tremper had a hit and scored two runs.

Dawson Prough had two hits, an RBI and a run scored and Nick Levindoski had an RBI.

Brett Kendrick had two RBI and Joe Allen had a hit.

Allen started for Wellsboro and James Mundy, Dalton Prough and Johnny Rowland all pitched in relief.

Troy 11, Wyalusing 1, 6 innings

The Trojans had 13 hits in the victory on Wednesday to stay tied atop the league standings.

Brandon Mattocks had three hits and three RBI and Kyle Jackson had three hits and scored two runs, one of his hits was a triple.

Kyle Schucker had a hit and an RBI and Brock Schucker had a hit.

Jacob Cumming scored a run and Clark Jackson had a hit and two RBI.

Dane Smith scored a run and Chance Lantz had a hit.

Mitchell Morse had two hits, with two RBI and scored three runs and Collin Binford had a hit, a run scored and two RBI. Anthony Dietrick scored a run for Troy.

Scott Eberlin had two hits and an RBI for Wyalusing and Ridge Williams had a hit and scored a run.

Kyle Tinna, Isaac Bennett and Dylan Otis all had hits for Wyalusing.

Devon Carr pitched three innings, striking out three, and Bennett pitched three innings with one strikeout.

Mansfield 6, Towanda 0

J.P. Shaw threw a one-hit shutout to lead the Tigers to the win on Wednesday.

Shaw struck out nine and walked one in the win.

Joel Whitteker had a hit for Mansfield and Jarrod Burd had a hit, two RBI and a run scored.

Bryce Zaparzynski had a hit, an RBI and a run scored for Mansfield and Nathan Tice and Zach Kriner each had two hits and scored a run, with Kriner driving in a run.

Carl Dinger had a hit and scored a run and Brendan Hill had a hit, while Kipp Hillson had two hits, with a double, and an RBI.

Nick Place had a hit for Towanda. Place struck out four in four innings on the mound and Troy Pierce struck out one in two innings.

NEB 7, Canton 2

Brian Horton threw a complete game for NEB in the win, striking out four and walking none in the win.

Horton had a hit and scored two runs for the Panthers and Aaron Pifer had a hit and scored a run.

Tyler Emick had two hits and scored two runs and Bryan Ford had a hit and scored a run, while Nate Watkins had a hit for NEB.

Trevor Route had two hits, and scored a run, for Canton and Tyler Cole had two hits.

John Bowman had two hits and scored a run and Bryce Cole had two hits.

Bowman struck out nine in 4 1/3 innings and Trevor Route pitched 1 1/3 innings, while Mason Martell pitched an inning.

Notre Dame 4, Newark Valley 1

Parker May threw a three-hitter, striking out nine in the victory.

At the plate May had two hits, with a double for the Crusaders.

Cam Reid scored a run and Matt LaBadie had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored and Chris Karam scored a run.

Matt Smith had two hits, with a double, and three RBI.

Sayre 10, Williamson 1

The Redskins scored three in the first and six in the third as they got the win to move within a half game of Canton in the NTL, Division II standings.

Jake Wheeler had a hit, two RBI and scored two runs for Sayre and Jordan Rockwell scored two runs.

Nate Sweet had two hits, an RBI and a run scored and Matt Williams had two hits, with a triple, an RBI and a run scored.

Connor Hanafin had an RBI and Sam Wheeler had a hit and a run scored.

Jake Goodrich had a double and John Esposito had a hit and scored a run, while Marshall Felt had two hits and scored a run.

Williamson got a double from Daltyn Confer, with a run scored and Jon Daley had a hit.

Anthony Bastian, Matt Learn and Ryan Sargent all added hits in the game.

Chase Austin started, striking out four in four innings and Bastian struck out one in three innings.
