Simmons pitches Tioga baseball past Edison.

2015 Tioga vs. Thomas Edison BaseballTIOGA CENTER, N.Y. - It was a special day on the mound for Tioga's Peter Simmons.

Simmons tied the Tioga school record for career wins with 21, pitching one of the biggest games of his career, a 10-2 win over Edison.

"It was just a big win," Tioga coach Bob Seymour said. "You could see the fire in Peter's eyes. It was a big win for him personally. He ties the school record for career wins with 21 career wins and he is 3-0 this year."

Simmons threw a seven-hitter, allowing two runs, neither earned, striking out six and walking one in the game.

At the plate Parker Hendershot had a 3-for-3 day with two runs scored and Jesse Manuel had a hit and scored two runs.

Adam Layman had three hits and scored two runs, with an RBI, while Jake Evanek had a two-run single in the first inning to spark a big five-run opening inning.

Simmons had three hits with two runs scored and two RBI and Adam Zwierlein had two hits and three RBI.

Lucas Richardson had a hit and scored a run for Tioga and Gabe Hoose had a hit, while Mitchell Taylor had a hit and two RBI.

Tioga hosts Moravia today.

Williamson 13, NEB 6

In the top of the first and second innings the Panthers took the lead, and each time the Warriors had an answer.

NEB scored three in the top of the first and Williamson answered with three of their own in the bottom half of the inning.

In the second NEB went up 5-3, before Williamson answered with five runs to go up 8-5.

The Warriors had a four-run sixth inning to put the game away.

Jon Daley had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored for Williamson and Hunter Sackett had a hit and a run scored. Matt Learn had two hits, two runs scored and four RBI and Ryan Sargent had three hits, with a double, and two RBI.

Anthony Bastian had two hits, with a double, an RBI and a run scored and Chase Austin had a run scored.

Daltyn Confer had a double and scored two runs and Wyatt Gorg had a hit and scored two runs.

Aaron Pifer had two hits and scored two runs for NEB, with an RBI and Garret Smith scored two runs, while Tyler Emick scored a run.

Brian Horton had a hit, an RBI and a run scored and Bryan Ford had a hit and three RBI.

Nik Geiser had a hit and an RBI.

Learn started for Williamson, striking out two in 1 2/3 innings and Austin struck out three in 5 1/3 innings. Horton struck out one in two innings and four other pitchers threw for NEB in the game.
