Tioga baseball downs Waverly.

WAVERLY, N.Y. - Parker Hendershot had a big day at the plate and Peter Simmons stands alone atop the Tioga wins list with his 22nd career victory as the Tioga Tigers topped Waverly 8-5.

Simmons broke the tie he had with Jackie Horton, who set the career record over three decades ago.

Hendershot was 3-for-4 with a home run and a double, four RBI and two runs scored in the game.

Jesse Manuel had two hits and drove in two runs and Adam Layman had two hits.

Jake Evanek, Simmons, Lucas Richardson, Adam Zwierlein and Mitchell Taylor each had hits for Tioga. Simmons, Richardson and Taylor scored runs and Zwierlein scored three times in the game.

Simmons struck out eight and walked one in the win.

Brendyn Stillman had a home run and a triple for Waverly, driving in three runs and scoring once.

Peyton Miller had a hit and scored a run and Kyle Kinsley had two hits.

Nate Bennett scored a run and Zac Saxon had a hit.

Mike Girolamo had a hit and an RBI and Collin Traub had a hit and scored a run, while Zach

Gingerich scored a run and Gavin Bennett had a hit and an RBI.

Traub struck out seven in six innings on the mound and Stillman pitched one inning.

Wellsboro 13, Wyalusing 3

After four scoreless innings by both teams to start the game the Green Hornets scored four in the fifth, three in the sixth and six in the seventh to get the win.

Dalton Prough had a hit, an RBI and scored two runs for Wellsboro and Parker Mann had a hit and scored a run.

Nick Tremper had a double, an RBI and scored two runs and Dawson Prough had a hit, two RBI and two runs scored.

Sam Moss had two hits, with a double, a run scored and an RBI and James Mundy scored a run.

Larry Walters and Nick Webster had hits and Johnny Rowland had a hit and scored three runs.

Devon Carr scored a run and Ridge Williams had a hit and scored a run for Wyalusing.

Levi Simpson had a hit and a run scored and Eli Bennett had two hits and two RBI, while Scott Eberlin had a hit.

Moss struck out two in five innings of one-hit ball for Wellsboro and Dawson Prough struck out one in two innings.

Holdan Hitchcock struck out four in two scoreless innings for the Rams and Carr, Kyle Tinna and Chandler Brown struck out four between them.

Wyalusing hosts Mansfield on Thursday.
