2015 Troy vs. Mansfield BaseballThe Troy Trojans stayed unbeaten on the season with an 11-3 win over Mansfield on Wednesday.

The Trojans scored four runs in the first two innings, then added three in the sixth and four in the seventh to pick up the win.

Jarod Mattocks had two hits, two RBI and a run scored for Troy and Isaac Havens had a pair of hits and two RBI.

Kyle Schucker had a double and an RBI and Brandon Mattocks had a hit and two runs scored.

Brock Schucker had a hit and an RBI, Mitchell Morse had a hit and scored a run and Collin Binford had a hit and two RBI.

Chance Lantz and Jacob Cummings each scored runs for Troy.

Rylan Whitmeyer had three hits, with two doubles, for Mansfield and Jarrod Burd had two hits and scored two runs. Brendan Holleran scored a run for Mansfield.

Kyle Schucker struck out eight, walked five and allowed five hits in the complete-game win for Troy. Holleran started for Mansfield and struck out two.

Troy is at Wyalusing on Friday.

Sayre 11, NEB 0, 5 innings

LERAYSVILLE - The Redskins scored five runs in the first inning as they rolled to the win on Wednesday.

Jordan Rockwell and Mike Rogers combined on a one-hitter for the Redskins, striking out six and walking two in the game.

Jake Wheeler scored two runs and stole a base for Sayre and Rockwell scored a run. Nate Sweet had a hit and scored two runs and Matt Williams stole two bases and scored three runs.

Connor Hanafin had a hit and scored a run and John Esposito and J.P. Harbst each scored runs for the Redskins.

Brian Horton had a hit for Northeast Bradford in the game. David Ford started for the Panthers as five pitchers threw in the game and combined for one strikeout.

Northeast Bradford is at CV today.

Wellsboro 13, Towanda 2, 5 innings

The Green Hornets scored nine runs in the second inning on their way to the win.

Dalton Prough threw the five innings for Wellsboro, striking out one and walking one to get the win.

Nick Levindoski had a 4-for-4 day with three runs scored and three RBI and Joe Allen was 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.

Larry Walters and Dawson Prough each had two hits for the Green Hornets. Walters scored a run and Prough had a double and scored two runs.

Dalton Prough, Nick TremperCaleb Tennis and Johnny Rowland all had hits for the Green Hornets.

Keegan Kisner had a double and scored a run for Towanda and Ethan Barto had a hit and an RBI, with a run scored, while Brandon McLinko had a hit and an RBI.

Lars Thomason pitched two innings for Towanda, Brayden Manchester pitched an inning and Kisner worked one inning. The three combined for one strikeout.

Wellsboro hosts Athens on Saturday and Towanda hosts Mansfield on Friday.

Athens 13, Wyalusing 1

WYALUSING - The Wildcats scored nine runs in the seventh to break open a close game and stay unbeaten.

After Athens scored three first-inning runs, helped by four Wyalusing errors, the Rams held Athens to one run the next five innings before the big Wildcats' inning.

Cody Jennings pitched five innings for Athens, allowing two hits and four walks, striking out five. Tyler Forbes allowed one hit and struck out one in an inning and Marc Felt struck out one in one perfect inning.

Tyler Secules had a hit and scored a run and Sam Perri had an RBI and scored two runs.

Zane Vargason had a three-run triple and scored four runs. Vargason has 13 RBI his past two games.

Luke Newman had three hits, with a double, two RBI and a run scored.

Tyler Forbes had two hits, two RBI and a run scored and Cody Jennings had two hits, three RBI and a run scored.

Matt Collins had a hit and an RBI and Dan Joyce had three hits and scored a run.

Ben Rubert had two hits and Felt had a hit, an RBI and a run scored, while Aaron Barry scored a run.

Devon Carr pitched five innings for Wyalusing, striking out none, walking three and allowing seven hits and four runs, just one earned. Isaac Bennett pitched two innings, allowing nine runs, just three earned, striking out two and walking none.

Holdan Hitchcock had a double for Wyalusing and Chandler Brown scored a run. Dawson Otis and Isaac Bennett each had hits for the Rams.

Edison 5, Notre Dame 3

The Crusaders fell behind 5-0 after one inning and weren't able to recover on Wednesday.

Notre Dame got two runs in the second and one in the fifth, but their rally came up short.

Kyle Minchin had two hits and an RBI and Cam Reid had a hit and a run scored. Matt LaBadie had a double, an RBI and a run scored and Nate Snavely had a hit and an RBI. Nick Clark had a hit and Louie Clearwater scored a run for the Crusaders.

Parker May struck out 11, walked one and allowed four hits and five runs, two earned in the loss for the Crusaders.

Williamson 14, CV 3

Daltyn Confer and Wyatt Gorg had home runs in the Warriors' win on Wednesday.

Matt Learn was 4-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI and two runs scored and Collin Heilbrun had two hits, four RBI and two runs scored.

Confer had two hits, three RBI and a run scored and Ryan Sargent had two hits and scored a run.

Jon Daley had a hit and scored four runs and Hunter Sackett scored two runs.

Chase Austin scored a run and Gorg had a hit, a run scored and three RBI.

Learn struck out seven, walked four and allowed three hits in the win for Williamson.

Wynn Doan had a home run for CV and Tyler Melko had a double and an RBI. Brendon Bell had a hit and Shay Flynn scored a run.

Melko and Colton Vinluan pitched for CV, striking out six and walking five.

Tioga 17, Newfield 7

Tioga pounded out 19 hits in the win on Wednesday.

Parker Hendershot had three hits, with a double, two RBI and two runs scored and Jesse Manuel had three hits, with a double, three runs scored and an RBI.

Jake Evanek had three hits, three RBI and three runs scored for Tioga.

Peter Simmons had two hits, two runs scored and four RBI and Lucas Richardson had two hits with a run scored. Gabe Hoose had two hits, an RBI and a run scored and Mitchell Taylor had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored.

Adam Zwierlein and Adam Layman had hits for Tioga.

Manuel struck out nine in five innings for Tioga to get the win and Layman worked two innings.

Jeremiah Warnimont was 3-for-4 with a triple for Newfield and he started on the mound in the loss.

Tioga hosts Odessa-Montour on Friday.

Waverly 6, Newark Valley 0

Zach Gingrich threw a four-hit shutout for the Wolverines, striking out six in the game.

Brendyn Stillman had a double with two RBI for Waverly and Peyton Miller had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Kyle Kinsley had a hit and Nate Bennett, Isiah King and Mike Girolamo all had hits and scored runs, while Gavin Bennett scored a run in the game.
