Athens baseball tops Mansfield in fiveATHENS -- Cody Jenninngs threw a five-hitter and Athens scored nine runs in the first inning on their way to a 13-1 win over Mansfield in NTL baseball action on Monday.

Mansfield entered the day a half game up on Athens in the league standings.

Jennings struck out seven and walked two in the win.

Matt Collins was 4-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored, and Ryan Kennedy had a hit and scored two runs, while Nate Bradley had an RBI.

Luke Newman had a double, an RBI and a run scored, and Marc Felt had a hit, two RBI and a run scored.

Daniel Joyce had an RBI and scored two runs, and Cory Stivason had two hits, with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.

Joe Horn had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored, and Justin Reagan had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Joe Parshall had a hit and Kaden Rude scored a run.

Brendon Hill had two hits for Mansfield and scored their run, and J.P. Shaw had a double, while Kipp Hillson had an RBI.

Dylan Williamson and Joel Whitteker had hits in the game.

Shaw, Levi Adams, Logan Adams, Whitteker and Derek Herbst pitched for Mansfield, striking out four.

Notre Dame 9, Waverly 5

WAVERLY, N.Y. -- The Crusaders scored three runs in the second and three more in the third to take a 6-1 lead.

Waverly got four in the third to get within one, but Notre Dame got two in the sixth and one in the seventh to wrap up the win.

Nate Snavely had two doubles, an RBI and a run scored and Matt Smith had a hit and scored a run, while Kyle Minchin scored a run in the win.

Matt LaBadie had two hits, with a double, and scored two runs and Gary Raupers had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Ben Cook had two hits and an RBI and Dustin Patton scored a run.

Ryess Youmans scored two runs and Eric Charnetski had a double and a triple and two RBI.

Cook struck out nine in the five-hitter for the win.

Brendyn Stillman had a home run and two RBI for Waverly and Peyton Miller had two hits with an RBI.

Mason Salsman had a triple, an RBI and a run scored and Nate Bennett scored a run.

D.J. Meyers scored a run and Gavin Bennett had a hit and an RBI, while Dylan Cooney scored a run.

Salsman struck out four in four innings and Meyers struck out one in one inning, while Stillman had two strikeouts in two innings.

Williamson 8, Canton 1

Hunter Sackett threw a one-hitter with four strikeouts as Williamson got the win.

The Warriors scored five runs in the first inning on their way to the victory.

Jake Rice had two hits, with a double and two runs scored, and Matt Learn and Chase Austin each had two hits, with an RBI and a run scored.

Brandon Enck had two hits, with a double, and an RBI and Wyatt Gorg had a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Jon Daley had a hit and scored a run, Colin Heilbrun had a hit, and Jared Stermer had a hit, an RBI and two runs cored.

Brendon Landis scored Canton’s run, while Jeremiah McClinton had a hit for the Warriors.

Landis and Bryce Cole pitched for Canton, striking out five.

Troy 14, Towanda 3

The Trojans got home runs from Kyle Schucker and Dane Smith in the win.

Schucker had a home run, a double, two runs scored and four RBI, whereas Smith had three hits, with a home run and a double, four runs scored and two RBI.

Collin Binford had three hits, a double and scored two runs and Clark Jackson had two hits and scored two runs.

Nathan Swain had four hits, three runs scored and two RBI, and Nate Martin had a double and a run scored, and Kody Schucker had a hit and two RBI.

Tyler Williams had a hit and Hunter Cohick had two hits.

Keegan Kisner had two hits and scored a run for Towanda and Caleb Lines had two hits.

Ricky Smiley had two hits, with a double and tow RBI and Brayden Manchester had two hits and an RBI.

Ryan Bartholomew had a hit and Tyler Bidlack and Brett Crispell scored runs.

Smith and Schucker pitched for Troy, striking out eight and Troy Pierce, Shane Martin, Bob Farley and Bidlack pitched for Towanda, striking out four.

Towanda is at Wellsboro today and hosts Wellsboro on Wednesday.

Down 6-0 after two innings the Redskins rallied for the win on Monday, scoring three in the third, four in the fourth and then capping the win with three in the seventh.

Nate Sweet had three hits, with a double, two RBI and three runs scored and Sam Wheeler had a hit and scored a run.

Matt Williams had two hits, three RBI and a run scored and Connor Hanafin had a hit and an RBI.

John Esposito and James Esposito had hits and Chris Ray had two hits and scored a run.

Gavin Lundy-McCutcheon scored a run and Luke Cowder had two hits, an RBI and a run scored.

Jake Goodrich worked 2 2/3 innings, striking out one and Williams struck out eight in 4 1/3 innings.

Tyler Melko had a home run, with two RBI for CV, and Kurtis Easton had a hit and scored a run, while Colton Vinluan had a double.

Jeremy Houck doubles and pinch-runner Nathan Higley scored on Lucas Shultz’s walk-off hit in the 10th inning Monday.

Shultz had a hit and scored a run and John Saxe had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Jake Doyle had two hits and scored two runs and Brian Lewis had three hits, a double, a run scored and an RBI.

Jeremy and Jarrod Hauck each had doubles and Higley scored the winning run.
