LERAYSVILLE — Nate Watkins threw a four-hit shutout, striking out four and walking one in the win.

Grant Allis had a hit and scored two runs, Tyler Emick had two hits, an RBI and a run scored and Brian Horton had two hits, with a double in the victory.

Nik Geiser had two RBI for NEB in the game.

Tyler Melko struck out six and allowed five hits in the game.

Melko, Wynn Doane and Christian Kemp had hits and Curtis Easton had a double for CV.

NEB hosts Williamson on Friday.

Athens 6, Towanda 1

WYSOX — The Wildcats scored four runs in the fourth in the victory.

Luke Newman had a double, a run scored and an RBI in the win and Cody Jennings had three RBI and scored two runs.

Ryan Kennedy scored a run and Marc Felt had two hits and an RBI.

Joe Horn had an RBI and Cory Stivason had a hit.

Matt Collins, Aaron Barry, Justin Reagan and Colby Sindoni had hits. Sindoni had a double and Reagan and Sindoni scored runs.

Felt started on the mound and struck out three in two innings, Collins pitched two scoreless innings, Jennings pitched two innings of perfect baseball, striking out five and Newman pitched an inning.

Towanda got a hit and a run scored from Shane Martin and Keegan Kisner, Caleb Lines and Tyler Bidlack had hits.

Ryan Bartholomew had a double and Luke Tama had two hits, while Lars Thomason had an RBI.

Brayden Manchester worked three innings of three-hit ball and Thomason, Lines and Martin finished on the mound.

"You never like to lose a game, but we definitely showed improvement from last week's game," Towanda coach Bill Sexton said. "We had some opportunities, we had an opportunity in the first inning and didn't get anyone in, bases loaded situation in the second and didn't get anyone in and had an opportunity in the fourth and didn't get anyone. We just couldn't put things together at the right time. We definitely played a better ball game this time.

"I was pretty pleased with Brayden Manchester's three innings in his first start of the season. If it was a different stage of the season I probably would have left him in and he probably would have gotten an inning or two more."

Towanda hosts Sayre today.

Sayre 2, Canton 1, 8 innings

The Redskins scored the winning run in the eighth inning as Jake Goodrich scored to lift Sayre to the win.

Nate Sweet and John Esposito had two hits each for Sayre and Chris Ray, Sam Wheeler and James Esposito had hits in the game.

Luke Cowder had an RBI and Goodrich and James Esposito scored runs.

Silas Binford and Ridge Moore each had two hits for Canton and Brendon Landis had a hit and a run and Bryce Cole had a hit. Moore had the Warriors' RBI.

James Esposito had stolen third and scored in the seventh inning to tie the game for Sayre and force extra innings.

Matt Williams struck out four in four two-hit shutout innings for Sayre and Sweet struck out two in four innings.

Michael Smithers struck out five in 7 1/3 innings for Canton.

Troy 8, Wellsboro 3

The Trojans scored runs in five of the first six innings in the win.

Nathan Swain worked four innings on the mound, allowing one hit and striking out five and Collin Binford pitched three innings, allowing two hits.

Nate Martin had three doubles and three RBI, with a run scored and Clark Jackson had two hits and scored a run.

Kyle Schucker had three hits and scored a run and Swain had a hit and an RBI.

Binford had a hit, two runs scored and an RBI and Dane Smith had a hit and scored two runs.

Ben Sherman had a hit and scored a run, Tyler Williams had an RBI and Hunter Cohick had a hit.

Sam Moss, James Mundy, Dalton Prough and Johnny Rowland pitched for Wellsboro, striking out six between them.

Dawson Prough had two hits, scored two runs and had a double and Larry Walters had a hit and two RBI, while Nick Tremper scored a run for Wellsboro.

Mansfield 21, Wyalusing 5

The Tigers scored four in the fifth, five in the six and seven in the seventh to pick up the win.

J.P. Shaw was 4-for-5 with five RBI, four runs scored, a double and his second home run in two games in the win.

Kipp Hillson had two hits and scored four runs and Levi Adams had three hits, with a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Dewey Wise had three hits, three RBI and scored four runs and Dylan Wesneski had three hits, with a double, four RBI and two runs scored.

Derrick Herbst, Joel Whitteker, Carl Dinger and Brendon Hill had hits for Mansfield, with Dinger driving in two runs and scoring three runs, Hill scoring two runs and Whitteker driving in a run, while Herbst scored a run.

Logan Adams, Levi Adams and Dinger pitched, striking out four.

Ridge Williams had two hits and scored a run and Isaac Bennett had two hits, with a double, an RBI and a run scored for Wyalusing.

Chandler Brown had a hit, an RBI and a run scored, Zach Bryun had a hit and an RBI, Brandon Brown had a hit and Kyle Warner and Riley God had hits and an RBI.

Bennett, Jon Morrison, Chandler Brown and God pitched, combining to strike out three.

Waverly 15, Newark Valley 1

Mason Salsman allowed two hits in four innings, striking out six and D.J. Meyers struck out six in three innings, allowing one hit.

Brendyn Stillman had two triples, four RBI and three runs scored and Meyers had three hits and four RBI, while Salsman had two hits, with a double, and two runs scored.

Mike Moore had a hit and Nate Bennett had a hit and scored four runs.

Tyler Croft scored a run and Jake Blackman had a hit.

Peyton Miller had a hit, two RBI and two runs scored and Gavin Bennett had a hit and scored a run, while Jason Morales had an RBI and Dylan Cooney scored a run.

Tioga 24, Newfield 2

The top five in the Tioga lineup had 19 hits in the win.

Parker Hendershot was 4-for-5 with three doubles and six RBI and his brother Pierce Hendershot was 4-for-5 with a double and three RBI.

Mitchell Taylor had four hits and two RBI, Tanner Folk had three hits and a double and Jake Evanek was 4-for-4 with two RBI.

Damon Rockwell struck out four in 3 1/3 innings and Pierce Hendershot struck out two in 3 2/3 innings.

"We came out a little flat, I think they were looking ahead to Edison and Lansing, it was only 5-1 going into the fifth," Tioga coach Bob Seymour said. "They finally woke up, they were swinging the bats well, but not running well. Eventually they woke up and came to life."

Tioga had 15 runs in the sixth to break the game open.

St. John Neumann 9, Sullivan County 6

John Saxe had three hits, with a double and a triple, and three RBI in the win. Saxe scored three runs.

Lucas Shultz and Jake Doyle had hits and Jared Houck had two hits, with two RBI. Shultz scored two runs and Doyle added a run.

Brian Lewis had two hits and Bryce Hoffman had three hits in the game.
