Sayre baseball falls to BloomsburgThe Sayre baseball team was edged by Bloomsburg 4-3 on Monday.

Bloomsburg led 4-1 after six, before Sayre rallied in the bottom of the seventh. The Redskins got two runs back in the seventh, but their rally came up short.

Nate Sweet had a hit for Sayre and Matt Williams had a double and scored a run.

Luke Cowder scored a run and John Esposito had two hits, two RBI and a run scored, while Chris Ray had a hit and an RBI.

Nick Malatesta had two doubles and two RBI for Bloomsburg and Joe Zola had a pair of hits, while Tyson Thrush had a double.

Thrush got the win on the mound, striking out three in 5 2/3 innings.

Jordan Rockwell went the distance for Sayre, striking out five.

NEB 5, Williamson 4

With two outs in the seventh, the Panthers got three straight hits to win it.

Nate Watkins had a hit in the seventh. Tyler Emick singled Watkins to second, and Watkins scored on a Nik Geiser single.

Garret Smith had two hits and scored a run for NEB, and Watkins had a hit and scored two runs.

Emick had two hits, an RBI and a run scored and Geiser had a hit, a run and an RBI.

Brian Horton had two hits and an RBI and Grant Allis had a hit.

Horton threw a complete game in the win, striking out five. Horton is 8-2 on the year and has thrown 62 innings in 10 starts.

Jon Daley had a triple and scored a run for Williamson and Matt Learn had two hits and an RBI.

Wyatt Gorg and Brandon Enck each had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Chase Austin went the distance for Williamson on the mound, striking out five.

NEB is at Wellsboro today.

Sullivan County 7, St. John Neumann 3

The Griffins picked up the win as they hit four doubles on the day.

Jake Doyle had two hits, with a double, and an RBI and John Saxe and Brian Lewis each had a double and an RBI.

Lucas Shultz had two hits and an RBI and Taylor Baldwin had a double and two RBI.

John Saxe struck out eight in the win.

The Griffins close the season tonight when they host Millville.

Montoursville 6, Troy 0

The Trojans got two hit in the loss as Owen Kiess and Nolan Ott threw for Montoursville.

Kyle Schucker, Clark Jackson and Nathan Swain threw for Troy in the game.

Ott had two hits and an RBI for Montoursville.
