Sayre baseball tops Athens.

The Sayre baseball team picked up an 11-1 win in five innings over Athens in NTL action on Friday.

Jordan Rockwell went the distance on the mound, striking out three.

Sam Wheeler had three hits, with a double, an RBI and two runs scored, and Nate Sweet scored a run and had an RBI.Matt Williams had three RBI and scored two runs, and Connor Hanafin had two hits and two RBI, with a double.

Rockwell had a hit and two RBI, and John Esposito had a hit and scored a run.James Esposito scored three runs, and Chris Ray had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored.

Luke Newman had a triple for Athens, and Ryan Kennedy had two hits.

Matt Collins had a hit, and Cody Jennings had two hits and scored a run.

Joe Parshall had a hit and an RBI, and Justin Reagan had a hit.

Newman, Kennedy and Nate Kennedy all pitched, striking out three.

Mansfield 5, CV 0

The Tigers got a combined four-hitter from J.P. Shaw and Kipp Hillson, who struck out nine.

Brendan Hill had three hits, an RBI and a run scored, and Dylan Williamson had two hits and an RBI.

Hillson had a hit, an RBI and a run scored, and Shaw had a hit and scored a run.

Carl Dinger and Eli Compton each scored runs in the game.

CV got two hits, with a double, from Colton Vinluan and Matt Freeman had a triple, while Tyler Melko had a double.

Melko, Nevin Stiles, Jace Bieser and Connor Calaman struck out five in the game.

Waverly 15, SVE 4

The Wolverines had five doubles and four triples in the win.

Gavin Bennett was 4-for-4 with a double and a pair of triples, two RBI and three runs scored, and Mason Salsman had two hits, with a triple, three RBI and a run scored.

Nate Bennett scored two runs and Brendyn Stillman had a double, a triple, three RBI and a run scored.

Ethan McNaulty scored a run and Peyton Miller had an RBI.

Jake Blackman had a double and an RBI, and D.J. Meyers scored two runs.

Shawn Salsbury had a hit, and Tyler Dudash scored a run.

Jason Morales had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored, Josh Knolles had two hits, an RBI and a run scored and Dylan Cooney had two doubles, a pair of RBI and a run scored.

Bennett and Miller combined to strike out four in the game.

NEB 8, Wyalusing 7, 8 innings

With the bases loaded Nate Chilson drew a walk to score Tyler Emick with the winning run.

Chilson got the win on the mound, throwing 2 1/3 innings of one-hit ball to end it, with two strikeouts.

Nate Watkins, Joby Leiser and Roland Phytila also pitched, striking out three.

Garret smith had two hits, two runs and an RBI for NEB, and Watkins had a hit and scored a run.

Emick had an RBI and scored two runs, and Brian Horton had three hits, three RBI and scored a run.

Nik Geiser had a hit, and Derrick Newman had a hit.

Grant Allis had two hits and scored a run, and Max Cooper had his first varsity hit and he had an RBI.

Phytilla had a double, and Nick Vrabel had two hits.

Ridge Williams had a double, a run scored and an RBI for Wyalusing, and Holdan Hitchcock had a hit, run and RBI.

Isaac Bennett had a hit, run and RBI, and Eli Bennett had two hits and two RBI.

Jon Morrison had two hits and scored a run, and Kyler Warner scored a run.

Morrison, Zach Bruyn and Hitchcock struck out five.

NEB hosts Susquehanna in a doubleheader starting at 10 a.m. today.

Canton 8, Towanda 6

Down 5-4, Canton scored four in the bottom of the sixth on their way to the win on Friday.

Brendon Landis had a hit and scored a run, and Ethan Landis had two hits and scored three runs.

Bryce Cole had two hits and scored a run, and Mason Martell had three hits and three RBI for Canton.Kaden Martell had two hits, with a double, and Jimmy Bowman and Ridge Moore scored runs.

Jeremiah McClinton had a hit and scored a run, and Kobe Walker had a hit.

Shane Martin had a hit for Towanda, and Keegan Kisner had two hits, a run and an RBI.

Lars Thomason scored a run and had two RBI, and Tyler Bidlack had a hit and an RBI.

Brayden Manchester had a hit and an RBI, and Ryan Bartholomew had an RBI.

Rickey Smiley had a hit and Caleb Lines scored two runs, while Luke Tama had an RBI and scored two runs.

"We battled back in the sixth, took a 5-4 lead and got Thomason off the hook, he actually pitched a pretty good game," Towanda coach Bill Sexton said. "Pierce came in, we had three errors and that was that."

Seth Robbins, Michael Smithers and Mason Martell struck out four for Canton, and Thomason and Pierce struck out two for Towanda.

Towanda hosts Troy on Monday, and Canton is at Williamson.

Troy 16, Williamson 6, 4 innings

Kyle Schucker was 4-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles and scored two runs as Troy scored at least two runs in each inning of the win.

Collin Binford had a double, two RBI and scored two runs, and Clark Jackson scored two runs.

William Dibble scored a run, and Hunter Cohick had a double and scored a run.

Nathan Swain had a hit and scored two runs, and Dane Smith had two hits and scored two runs.

Nate Martin had two hits, with a double, an RBI and a run scored, and Kody Schucker had a hit and an RBI.

Ben Sherman had a hit, Michael Borden scored two runs, and Bailey Cohick scored a run.

Swain, Binford and Jackson combined to strike out four.

Matt Learn had two hits and scored a run for Williamson, and Jon Daley had a hit and an RBI.
