"Joe pitched a consistent game and had good defensive help," Wellsboro coach Philip Prough said. "He was around the plate all night. The key was getting his curve ball over for strikes. Dawson had started to be more comfortable at the plate, but his third base defense was more impressive. It really helps our pitchers knowing we have kids who can make plays behind them. So Joe was able to throw his curveball with confidence because Tremper can back it and his infielders can handle most grounders. It was a good defensive game for us tonight."
