Athens edges Shikellamy, 2-0.

Cody Jennings had a double, a single, and an RBI on offense and on the mound, Jennings threw 6 and two thirds innings, striking out 15 and allowing no runs on four hits to lead the Wildcats to their 2-0 win over Shikellamy on Thursday.

For Athens, Ryan Kennedy had one hit and a run, Joe Parshall added one run and a hit, Nate Kennedy and Joe Horn each had one hit and Horn also had an RBI.

Athens' Marc Felt threw the last one third of an inning to finish off the game.

Waverly 13, Newark Valley 4

Hunter Bodine and Cole Jenner each had two runs, two hits and one RBI to lead Waverly to their 13-4 victory over Newark Valley on Thursday.

For Waverly, Dylan Cooney had two runs and a single, Brendyn Stillman added one run and an RBI, Zach VanHouten finished with two runs on one hit, Bradey Roney had two runs, Nate Bennett finished with a run, a double and an RBI, Devan Garrison also had a double, Jason Morales finished with a run and Grant Caplan added one RBI.

Tyler Croft started the game for Waverly and threw four innings, striking out five and allowing one run on five hits. Bodine relieved him for one inning and struck out one batter and allowed two runs on three hits. Mike Shaffer pitched the last two innings, striking out four and allowing one run on two hits.

Coudersport 7, Cowanesque Valley 0

CV fell to Coudersport 7-0 in local baseball action on Thursday.

Chris Lingle started for CV and went for three innings. He struck out two batters and allowed one run on four hits. Jace Bieser relieved him and threw the last three innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out three.

Caleb Fitzwater had two hits and two stolen bases for CV and Owen Fitzwater added one hit and one stolen base.
