Canton tops Neumann; Tioga takes two.

A 4-run fourth inning gave Canton a 9-3 win over St. John Neumann in non-league baseball action Monday.

Canton led 4-3 before that inning then tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth.

Silas Binford was 2-for-2 with two runs for the Warriors while Seth Robbins was 2-for-3 with 2-RBIs.

Ethan Landis was 2-for-3 with a run scored with Brendon Landis, Kaden Martell, Michael Smithers and Taylor Acla also getting hits. Acla's hit was a double.

Brendon Landis and Martell both scored twice while Jeremiah McClinton and Smithers also crossed home.

Robbins started and went the first three innings for the win, giving up the three runs.

Byron Marnati pitched the next 1 1/3-innings, striking out three. Acla pitched an inning and two-thirds with two strikeouts while Smithers threw in the seventh, getting one strikeout.

Jadon Cioffi and Namon Amos had Neumann's two hits. Amos took the loss.

Canton will host CV today and travel to Williamson on Thursday.

Tioga 26, Newfield 6

Down 3-1 after the first inning, the Tigers out scored Newfield 25-3 the rest of the way for the IAC baseball win.

Parker Hendershot was 5-for-6 with a triple, three runs and 3-RBIs while Pierce Hendershot was 4-for-4 with five runs, a triple and 5-RBIs.

Tyler Whitmore and Justin Rockwell both went 3-for-4 with a double. Whitmore had three runs and 5-RBIs while Rockwell had two runs and 3-RBIs.

Damon Rockwell was 2-for-5 with a double, two runs and an RBI, Gabe Martin was 2-for-4 with a run scored while Derrick Barto was 1-for-2 with three runs.

Whitmore had nine strikeouts in the win while allowing three hits, three runs and four walks.

Tioga 15, Edison 1

In the nightcap, the Tigers broke open a scoreless game with a 6-run third inning to pick up the IAC baseball win.

Pierce Hendershot was 3-for-4 with a double, triple and 5-RBIs, with Parker Hendershot going 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs.

Nick Cotto was 2-for-4 with a run scored and 2-RBIs, Mitchell Taylor was 3-for-4 with two runs and 2-RBIs, Martin was 2-for-3 with two runs and 2-RBIs, Whitmore had a triple with a run scored and an RBI, while Damon Rockwell, Nick Klossner and Justin Rockwell each had a hit.

Pierce Hendershot went the first six innings, striking out eight with one run, four walks and six hits.

Parker struck out the side in the seventh.

Tioga will travel to Marathon today.
