Sayre tops NEB.

Sayre pounded out nine hits as they picked up an NTL baseball win over NEB 10-0 in six innings Tuesday.

Nate Sweet (2-for-2), Jordan Rockwell (2-for-4) and Quinn Hanafin (2-for-4) all had multiple hits on the day.

Sweet had a double, three runs and an RBI. Hanafin had a double with 5-RBI, while Rockwell scored twice.

Connor Hanafin had a double with two runs and 3-RBI while Matt Williams and James Esposito also had hits.

Esposito knocked in a run, and Sam Wheeler scored twice while Jake Goodrich scored once.

Esposito got the win, allowing two walks and three hits on 60 pitches.

Nate Watkins went 2-for-3 to lead the Panthers while Tyler Devonshire also had a hit.

Ian Wilbur started and went the first two innings for the loss. He struck out one while allowing two walks, five hits and four earned runs on 47 pitches.

Roland Pyhtila went the next inning and a third, striking out two while allowing two walks, three hits and four runs, two of them earned on 34 pitches.

Grant Allis finished up, going 1 2/3-innings as he struck out one and allowed two walks, one hit and two unearned runs on 31 pitches.

Athens 12, NEB 1

Cody Jennings went 4-for-4 and the Wildcats moved one game closer to claiming their fourth straight NTL title.

Jennings added two runs and 3-RBI while Cory Stivason (2-for-5) had two doubles, one run and 3-RBI and Luke Newman (2-for-4) had 2-RBI and a run scored.

Matt Collins and Joe Horn each had a double with Kaden Rude also getting a hit.

Rude and Collins both scored twice while Andy Rosenberger, Horn, Brock May and Ethan Witherow also crossed home.

Collins, Marc Felt and Horn each had an RBI.

Joe Parshall started and earns the win, striking out three while allowing two hits in three innings of work.

Nate Kennedy struck out one while walking two in one inning of action. Felt allowed two hits and an unearned run in 1 2/3-innings with Rosenberger pitching the one-third.

Garret Smith, Nate Watkins, Ian Wilbur and Derrick Newman each had a hit with Roland Pyhtila scoring their run.

Nate Chilson started and earns the loss, going three innings to allow six hits, two walks and five runs, four of them earned.

Nate Watkins pitched an inning, striking out one while allowing two hits, three walks and two earned runs.

Pyhtila went an inning, allowing one walk, three hits and three earned runs. Max Cooper went two-thirds of an inning, striking out two while allowing four walks and two unearned runs.

Dawson Brown finished out, striking out one.

Waverly 5, Whitney Point 0

Brendyn Stillman went 2-for-2 with two doubles to lead the Wolverines to the IAC baseball win Tuesday.

Stillman scored twice, as well.

On the mound, Tyler Croft went the distance for the 4-hit shutout. He struck out six and walked none on 84 pitches.

Zach VanHouten and Nate Bennett also had doubles while Bradey Roney, Hunter Bodine and Paul Girolamo each had a hit.

VanHouten, Roney and Girolamo each scored a run while VanHouten knocked in two runs. Bennett also had an RBI.

Notre Dame 8, Odessa-Montour Watkins Glen 4

Nate Snavely threw a complete game to lead the Crusaders to the IAC baseball win.

Gary Raupers, Erik Charnetski and Iman McKay had two hits each for Notre Dame while Ben Cook had a double. Isaiah McKay also had a hit.

Sullivan County 11, Bucktail 1, 6 innings

The Griffins pulled out a Mid-Penn League win Tuesday.

Jake Doyle, Jeremy Houck and Brian Lewis had two singles each while Sam Carpenter, Jared Houck, Nate Higley and David Maxwell also had hits.

Houck also had a double.

Higley knocked in four runs, Lewis added two while Carpenter and Lucas Shultz each had one.

Shultz's RBI came on a dropped third strike that he reached second base on.
