Hornets fall to Canton, 9-4.
 

The Wellsboro Varsity baseball team fell to the Canton Warriors on Saturday, April 19 by the final of 9-4.

Canton scored six runs in the first two innings. The Hornets cut it to 6-3 with three runs in the third but Canton scored three more in the seventh to put it away.

Sophomore Dawson Prough went 2-for-4 with a triple and run scored while Senior Brandon Owlett was 2-for-2 with a run. Sophomore Nick Tremper went 1-for-3 with a double.

Sophomore Joe Allen started and earned the loss, going two innings to allow five hits, six earned runs and four walks with one strikeout.

Senior Dylan Prough pitched the next three, allowing just one hit and two walks with one strikeout. Owlett finished up, allowing two hits, two earned runs and four walks with four strikeouts.

With the loss, the Hornets fall to 3-3 (1-1 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Monday, April 21 as they host Coudersport.
