Attention athletes, you can now apply for the Wendy's High School Heisman scholarship.

The Wellsboro Area School District would like to inform parents that accident insurance for their child is available for this school year. Student accident insurance can help eliminate the possibility of out-of-pocket expenses if a child is hurt or injured while in school or attending a school function.

The Wellsboro School District has just released ticket prices for the 2012-13 season.

The Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club kicked off the start of the Fall 2012 sports season at the first ever Swarm the Hive event Wendesday night. The event, which replaced Meet the Hornets, included a tailgate, fun and games, and introduction of the athletic teams and new Lettermen.

Five members of the Wellsboro Varsity baseball team were selected to the NTL West All-Star team for 2012.

Five members of the Hornet Varsity baseball team were selected to the Daily Review's 2012 All-Region team.

Seniors Chase Barnes and Raina Rogers were named Male and Female Athletes of the Year Tuesday night at the Annual Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club banquet.

The Hornets fell short in their first round District playoff game as they lost to Montoursville last night, 5-1.

The Wellsboro Varsity baseball team competed in the Montoursville Tournament over the weekend and took home third place.

The Wellsboro Varsity baseball team captured the NTL West title with a 11-3 win over Troy.

On Tuesday, May 8, the Wellsboro School Board approved the hire of Matt Rendos as the new Athletic Director at Wellsboro High School. Rendos, who is currently a Guidance Counselor at the High School, will be taking over immediately for former AD Sherri Prough.

Sophomore Dylan Prough went 3-3 with 4 RBIs to lead the Hornet Varstiy baseball team to a 17-7 win over Williamson. In addition to Prough's hits, Senior Billy Sell had two hits and Junior Connor Coolidge had a two-run single that ended the game for the Hornets in the fifth inning.

The Wellsboro Varsity baseball team won their 9th game of the year by defeating the CV Indians 11-1 in 6 innings last night. Dan Saniga pitched a complete game for the win by striking out 9 and allowing 4 hits in the contest.
