Senior Conner Adams committed to Division II Mansfield University earlier this summer to continue his baseball career.

Adams will major in environmental science.

Through two seasons with the Hornets, Adams has accumulated 49 hits in 135 at bats (.363), has scored 49 runs, batted in 24 runs, with 6 doubles and 2 triples. He also has on on-base percentage of .461 and slugging percentage of .437. In the field Adams holds a .887 fielding percentage from his short stop position.

Mansfield first started scouting Adams at the Pennsylvania state games. "We started talking on the phone after that," Adams said. "I picked Mansfield because of Coach Chalot. He is a very good players coach, he's a very honest guy, and he told me where he saw me in the program and how I would help the four years I'll be there. The winning tradition also factored in. I believe they are going to be back there soon."

The Mounties have had 24 players drafted in the MLB Draft.

Once Adams gets on campus with the program after graduation he hopes to hit the ground running.

"My goals are to win the PSAC with my recruiting class and to be an All-PSAC player," said Adams. "Playing for Wellsboro has taught me to work hard and stay humble because I need to do those things to be successful at the collegiate level, and hopefully I can play some form of pro baseball one day."

Head Coach Steve Adams, Conner's father, thinks Mansfield is a great choice for his son.

"Mansfield is a good program for Conner to become a part of," Coach Adams added. "PSAC baseball is a great conference. Conner has worked hard and I'm happy he will be playing college baseball."

WellsboroBaseball.com wishes Conner the best of luck as he pursues his collegiate baseball career next year at Mansfield.
