Smith throws 4-hit shutout against Williamson.
 

Sophomore Caden Smith threw a 4-hit 13-0 shutout at Williamson in 5 innings on Tuesday, May 10.

Smith faced 19 batters, threw 60 pitches, struck out one, walked two, and scattered 4 hits to scored the Hornets' 7th win in a row and their first shutout of the season.

The Hornets scored three times in the 1st, twice in the 2nd, and 8 times in the 4th to end the game early.

Wellsboro had 11 hits on the afternoon, led by senior Darryn Callahan's 3-for-3 performance with two doubles, a triple, and 4 RBIs. Smith was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and senior Isaac Keane was 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs. Junior Cameron Brought was 1-for-1 and scored twice, junior Conner Adams was 1-for-2, and junior Blake Hamblin and senior Dylan Abernathy were both 1-for-3.

The win improves the Hornets to 12-4 (12-3 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action on Friday, May 13 for their annual Senior Night game against Shikellamy.
